GYMRACE is an indoor hybrid fitness race held in large arenas across the Netherlands and Germany, alternating 1km runs with functional and machine stations over a fixed course. It blends strength and endurance in a single timed effort, with a supportive, coaching-style setup for regular entrants and a stricter competitive tier for those who want it.
You can enter Solo, as Buddies (two athletes who split the station reps freely) or as a Relay team. A HEAVY variant with heavier weights and strict judging runs alongside the regular categories. In the mixed Buddies category the men's weight standard applies. Minimum age is 16.
GYMRACE strings 1km runs between heavy strength and erg stations, so the athletes who finish strong are the ones who trained the handover between running and lifting. A plan built around your event date and the specific station mix keeps your pace steady where others fade.
