What is GYMRACE?

GYMRACE is an indoor hybrid fitness race held in large arenas across the Netherlands and Germany, alternating 1km runs with functional and machine stations over a fixed course. It blends strength and endurance in a single timed effort, with a supportive, coaching-style setup for regular entrants and a stricter competitive tier for those who want it.

What to expect at GYMRACE Amsterdam 2026

  • The course alternates 1km runs with stations: a sled push, wall balls, a slam-ball carry, rowing, kettlebell swings to overhead, SkiErg, dumbbell farmers lunges, an assault bike and burpee broad jumps, before a final sprint.
  • It is an indoor arena event with staggered starts, live timing and a loud crowd.
  • Regular categories are judged in a supportive, coaching style, while the HEAVY tier uses heavier loads and strict competitive judging.
  • The mix of runs, ergs and strength stations means pacing across the whole course matters more than any single lift.

You can enter Solo, as Buddies (two athletes who split the station reps freely) or as a Relay team. A HEAVY variant with heavier weights and strict judging runs alongside the regular categories. In the mixed Buddies category the men's weight standard applies. Minimum age is 16.
