HYROX Elite 15 is the professional field of HYROX: the 15 highest-ranked women and the 15 highest-ranked men on HYROX’s points leaderboard, plus the top 15 women’s and men’s Doubles pairs, invited to a five-race Elite Series that pays prize money and sends its podiums to the World Championship. You cannot buy a ticket for it. You earn a ranking, and HYROX invites you.
Since 22 June 2026 that ranking has been built from points, not from one qualifying race. Licensed athletes score at ordinary Pro races and at Elite races, their best results over a rolling 365 days are added up, and about three weeks before each Elite race the top of the table gets an email.
This guide covers what the Elite 15 is, how the points system decides who gets in, the 2026/27 Elite Series calendar with every cut-off date, what changes on the race floor compared with an age-group Pro wave, and the prize money HYROX publishes. Every figure comes from HYROX’s own Elite Series pages and the official HYROX Season 26/27 rulebook . Where HYROX publishes nothing, we say so.
Key Takeaways
- HYROX Elite 15 is an invitation-only field of 15 per category, in women’s and men’s Singles and Doubles. There is no public entry and no Mixed Doubles Elite category.
- Since 22 June 2026, places are decided by a points leaderboard: your best five Singles results, or best three Doubles results, over a rolling 365 days.
- Only results raced while holding a HYROX Athlete Licence score points. The 2026/27 licence costs €347 plus taxes and expires at the end of the World Championships.
- The 2026/27 Elite Series has five races: Hamburg, London, Bangkok, Las Vegas and Lyon. Each field is locked at a cut-off roughly 21 days before race day.
- The top three at each Elite Series race qualify for the Elite 15 at the World Championship in Hong Kong, 10 to 13 June 2027.
- HYROX lists 1,647,500 USD in prize money across the five 2026/27 Elite races and 759,000 USD at the World Championship, paid equally to women and men.
- Elite 15 races the same Pro loads as an age-group Pro wave. What changes is the start format, VAR judging, a 60-minute challenge window and anti-doping control.
What Is HYROX Elite 15?
HYROX Elite 15 is the top division of the HYROX Elite Series, a closed, invitation-only series that HYROX describes as sitting above Open and Pro racing. Each Elite 15 race lines up the 15 best-ranked athletes or Doubles pairs in that category, and only athletes in an Elite 15 wave can win the overall World Championship title, which the rulebook calls World Champion of Fitness Racing, and prize money.
The Elite Series runs four separate categories, each with its own leaderboard and its own invitations:
- Elite 15 Singles, women and men
- Elite 15 Doubles, women and men
- Challenger 15 Singles, for athletes ranked 16 to 30
- Challenger 15 Doubles, for pairs ranked 16 to 30
Points do not cross between them. A strong Singles season gives you nothing in Doubles, and a Doubles result does nothing for your Singles ranking. HYROX also states that there is no Mixed Doubles Elite 15 or Challenger 15 category: mixed teams race in the Pro division, with no Elite pathway.
The rulebook defines the Elite 15 as the fastest racers of the Pro division over the current season. So the Elite is the sharp end of the Pro division , selected, invited and raced under tighter rules.
How to Qualify for HYROX Elite 15
You qualify for HYROX Elite 15 by holding an Athlete Licence, scoring points at Pro and Elite races, and being inside the top 15 of your category’s leaderboard on the cut-off date before an Elite race. HYROX’s Elite page is blunt about the rest: there is no single qualifying race, no discretionary selection and no wildcard entry into the Elite Series.
Step 1: Hold an Athlete Licence Before You Race
The licence is the entry ticket to the points system, and it is not backdated. The Season 26/27 rulebook says it must be applied for before the race whose points you want, and results raced without one never count, even if you buy a licence afterwards.
What HYROX publishes about the 2026/27 licence:
- Cost: €347 plus applicable taxes.
- Length: one season. It expires at the end of the last day of the World Championships, and there is no reduced price for buying late.
- Obligations: you agree to the HYROX Rulebook and the HYROX Anti-Doping Code, and to being tested.
- What it does not buy: no discounted entries, no priority tickets and no late entries. You still register for Pro races through the normal public sale.
Anyone can apply, through HYROX’s licence portal. It is only needed if you want Elite ranking points or an Elite race.
Step 2: Score Points at Pro and Elite Races
Points come from three tiers of race, and a better tier pays more for a win. A standard Pro race at a regular HYROX event is the base tier, the five Elite Series races sit above it, and the Elite 15 World Championship race is the top.
This table shows the fixed points at the top of each tier, from the Season 26/27 rulebook and HYROX’s qualification page .
| Race tier | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | Fixed points down to | Places that can score |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Pro race | 105 | 100 | Formula | 2nd (100) | Top 8 |
| Challenger 15 race | 108 | 106 | 103 | 4th (100) | Top 12 |
| Elite 15 race | 110 | 108 | 107 | 10th (100) | Top 15 |
| Elite 15 World Championship | 115 | 112 | 110 | 10th (100) | Top 15 |
Below the fixed places, points are a percentage of the winner’s time: the winner’s time divided by your time, times 100. You also have to finish inside a threshold, which starts at 10% slower than the winner and widens to 20% further down the order. The rulebook adds a hard stop: once one finisher misses the threshold, nobody behind them scores at that race either.
Take a Pro race won in 58:00, and an athlete who finishes fourth in 1:01:30. That is 3,480 seconds divided by 3,690 seconds, times 100, so 94.3 points, and at 6% behind the winner it sits comfortably inside the threshold. Second place at the same race earns a flat 100. So below the top two at a Pro race, your points depend on how close you finish to the winner.
Step 3: Count Your Best Results, Not All of Them
Only your best results count: five in Singles and three in Doubles, inside a rolling 365-day window. Extra results do not add to your total, but they wait in reserve, because as an old high score drops out of the window the next best one takes its place. HYROX says there is no way to bank status beyond the 365 days.
Ties are broken on strength of field, meaning the combined points standing of all licensed starters at the races behind your counted results. Points earned against stronger fields win the tie. If that still does not separate two athletes, the rulebook compares their counting scores one by one, best first.
For Doubles there is one more condition. Since the 2026/27 season, both partners must hold the same nationality, as shown on their passports, to score Elite points together. A mixed-nationality pair can still race and win Pro Doubles, but scores nothing on this pathway, and the eligible pair behind them does not move up into their points.
Step 4: Be Inside the Top 15 at the Cut-Off
Each Elite field is locked at a cut-off, generally 21 days before race day, and only points earned before that date count. HYROX updates the official points leaderboard by 17:00 CET each Wednesday, once results and challenge windows have closed.
When the field locks, invitations go out by email in ranking order, and you have 24 hours to accept. Miss the window, decline, or withdraw later, and the place rolls down to the next eligible, licensed athlete on the table.
The Challenger 15 Route
The Challenger 15 is the second rung. Athletes ranked 16 to 30 at the cut-off race on the same stage as the Elite 15, and the Challenger winner earns a direct place in the next Elite 15 field. HYROX’s race page says that from Race 2 onwards, each Elite 15 field is the top 14 on the leaderboard plus the Challenger winner from the previous race.
If a Challenger winner does not take up the place, the rulebook lets it roll down a maximum of two times before it goes back to the leaderboard. There is no Challenger racing at the World Championship.
Wildcards and Licensed Wave 1 Seeding
HYROX’s Elite page rules out wildcards for the Elite Series. The Season 26/27 rulebook keeps one discretionary clause for the World Championships, where HYROX reserves the right to hand out wildcards and invite other racers. Treat it as a right HYROX holds, and plan without it.
One published benchmark is worth knowing on the way up. Licensed athletes can be seeded into Wave 1 at Pro races if they have met these times in the qualifying window: 57:04 for Pro men and 1:03:21 for Pro women in Singles, and 54:30 for men and 1:00:30 for women in Pro Doubles. If you want to see how far your current fitness sits from those marks, the HYROX finish time predictor gives you an estimate to set against them.
The 2026/27 HYROX Elite Series Calendar
The 2026/27 HYROX Elite Series has five races, from Hamburg in October 2026 to Lyon in May 2027, and every one of them lists both an Elite 15 and a Challenger 15 race on HYROX’s race calendar . This table pairs each race with the cut-off date HYROX publishes for it.
| Race | City | Race dates | Ranking cut-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hamburg | 30 to 31 October 2026 | 6 October 2026 |
| 2 | London (ExCeL) | 3 to 4 December 2026 | 17 November 2026 |
| 3 | Bangkok | 11 to 12 February 2027 | 19 January 2027 |
| 4 | Las Vegas | 12 to 13 March 2027 | 18 February 2027 |
| 5 | Lyon | 13 to 14 May 2027 | 13 April 2027 |
| World Championship | Hong Kong | 10 to 13 June 2027 | 18 May 2027 |
Notice how close the first one is. The Hamburg field locks on 6 October 2026, so anyone not already inside the top 15 by then is racing for London. Race 1 falls inside the dates of the regular Hamburg event, which our page on HYROX Hamburg 2026 covers, and the 2026/27 HYROX race calendar lists the Pro races where licensed athletes collect points in between.
HYROX’s own documents do not quite agree about Race 1. The race calendar lists a Challenger 15 race in Hamburg, while the Season 26/27 rulebook says Race 1 uses a waterfall start, with athletes released one at a time, and that Challenger races begin at Race 2. If you are ranked 16 to 30 and planning around Hamburg, check your invitation rather than either page.
How Elite 15 Racing Differs from Age-Group Pro
An Elite 15 race is the same course and the same Pro loads as an age-group Pro race. The rulebook has no separate Elite weight table, because the Elite is drawn from the Pro division. What changes is how the race starts, how it is judged, and what an athlete is responsible for off the course.
Same Course, Same Pro Loads
It is still 8km of running in eight 1km legs, each followed by one station, in the same fixed order. The loads are the Pro standards from the Season 26/27 rulebook, with sled figures including the sled:
| Station | Women Pro | Men Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Sled push | 152kg | 202kg |
| Sled pull | 103kg | 153kg |
| Farmers carry | 2 x 24kg | 2 x 32kg |
| Sandbag lunges | 20kg | 30kg |
| Wall balls | 6kg to a 2.70m target | 9kg to a 3.00m target |
If you race Pro now, nothing here is new. Our full HYROX weights table sets these against every other division.
A Different Start
Age-group racing runs in waves released at regular intervals, about every 10 minutes in the rulebook’s example, so you race the clock as much as the people around you. The Elite is built for racing head to head. Races 2 to 5 of the 2026/27 series use what the rulebook calls the Elite 15 Grid format, and Race 1 in Hamburg uses the waterfall start described above.
Judging with VAR, and Very Little Appeal
HYROX runs a Video Assistant Review system at Elite races: a remote Race Direction team, fixed and mobile cameras around the course, and replay screens on the race floor for the Technical Director of Elite Racing. Decisions on repetitions, movement standards and course compliance are made during the race, and they are final.
That leaves a narrow door for challenges. At Elite level, a race result challenge can only allege unsporting behaviour. It must be in writing, with evidence attached, within 60 minutes of the last athlete in that race crossing the line. An appeal against the outcome goes to a five-member Competition Jury within 24 hours, and its ruling is final.
Anti-Doping Control
Every licensed athlete is subject to the HYROX Anti-Doping Code, which HYROX describes as aligned with WADA. Tests can happen at Pro races, Elite races and the World Championship, and they are not limited to the podium. A selected athlete is told on finishing and must stay with a chaperone until testing is complete, and an athlete who does not finish an Elite race must still report to race officials and stay available until the award ceremony.
The Bills Are Yours
Elite status does not come with travel. HYROX states that Elite athletes arrange and pay for their own flights, accommodation and travel to every Pro race they use for points and every Elite race. It strongly advises full travel and medical insurance, and states that ambulance, hospital and other off-site medical costs sit with the athlete.
HYROX Elite 15 Prize Money
HYROX publishes the 2026/27 Elite 15 prize money in full: 1,647,500 USD across the five Elite Series races, and 759,000 USD at the World Championship. Prize money is paid to the top 15 in Elite Singles and the top 15 teams in Elite Doubles, and HYROX states that the amounts are the same for women and men.
This table shows the published amounts per place, in USD.
| Place | Elite Series race, Singles | Elite Series race, Doubles | World Championship, Singles | World Championship, Doubles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | 23,250 | 15,500 | 58,250 | 49,250 |
| 2nd | 15,500 | 10,250 | 38,750 | 24,750 |
| 3rd | 10,250 | 6,750 | 26,000 | 16,250 |
| 4th | 8,500 | 5,750 | 20,750 | 8,250 |
| 5th | 6,750 | 4,750 | 17,500 | 5,000 |
| 10th | 3,250 | 2,250 | 8,250 | 3,250 |
| 15th | 2,000 | 1,750 | 6,000 | 2,000 |
A world title in Singles pays two and a half times an Elite Series win. And Doubles money is a team purse, split equally between the two partners, so a Doubles win at an Elite Series race is 7,750 USD each.
The World Championship also has an Elite Invitational mixed relay with its own 100,000 USD purse, 35,000 USD of it for the winning team of four. All prize money is paid on final official results, after reviews and doping control, and is subject to local tax.
One caveat on the source. The Season 26/27 rulebook says World Championship prize money is announced in each year’s Elite 15 Guide, while HYROX’s Elite page already lists the 2027 figures above. If the two ever differ, the guide for that year is the document HYROX points to.
The Elite 15 World Championship
The Elite 15 at the HYROX World Championship is made up of the athletes who finished in the top three at the five Elite Series races, and in 2027 it races in Hong Kong from 10 to 13 June.
The places belong to the race itself. HYROX’s Elite 15 World Championship page says that if a podium athlete has already qualified, or cannot race, the place goes to the next eligible athlete from that same race. Doubles pairs must race the World Championship with the partner they qualified with, and substitutions are not allowed.
Qualifying for the Elite race ends any age-group plans at the same championships. An athlete with an Elite place cannot race any age-group division there, in Singles, Doubles or Mixed Doubles, and an age-group place they already hold is forfeited and refunded, including their age-group Doubles partner’s ticket. Challenger 15 athletes are not affected: with no Challenger race at the World Championship, they can accept normal age-group slots.
If that age-group route is the one you are chasing, we cover it in full in how to qualify for the HYROX World Championship : slots by placing, the 48-hour offer and the licence cap on the rolldown.
The championship race also feeds the next season. It carries the highest points of the year, 115 for a win, and those points count in the rolling window like any other result.
Who Is in the Elite 15 Right Now?
HYROX does not name its current Elite 15 athletes on any of the pages this guide is built from. The live answer is the official points leaderboard , which holds separate Singles and Doubles tables and updates by 17:00 CET each Wednesday.
We are not printing a list here on purpose. The field changes at every cut-off, an athlete invited to one Elite race is not guaranteed the next, and HYROX states that rankings reward current performance, not reputation. A list in a blog post would be out of date by the next Wednesday. For the fastest times ever run in each division, and who ran them, see our guide to HYROX world records .
FAQ
Elite 15 is HYROX's invitation-only professional field: the 15 highest-ranked athletes, or Doubles pairs, in each category on HYROX's points leaderboard. They race a five-race Elite Series for prize money, and the top three at each race qualify for the Elite 15 at the World Championship, the only race where the overall title is decided.
Hold a HYROX Athlete Licence, score points at Pro and Elite races, and be inside the top 15 of your category's leaderboard at the cut-off about 21 days before an Elite race. Your best five Singles results, or best three Doubles results, over a rolling 365 days count. HYROX's Elite page says there is no single qualifying race, no discretionary selection and no wildcard entry into the Elite Series.
For 2026/27 HYROX lists 1,647,500 USD across the five Elite Series races and 759,000 USD at the World Championship, paid equally to women and men. An Elite Series Singles win pays 23,250 USD and a World Championship Singles win pays 58,250 USD. Doubles prize money is split equally between the two partners.
The 2026/27 HYROX Athlete Licence costs €347 plus applicable taxes. It lasts one season, expires at the end of the World Championships, and is not reduced if you buy it late. You only need it to earn Elite ranking points or race Elite events, and results raced before you held one never count.
The Challenger 15 is the race for athletes ranked 16 to 30 on the Elite leaderboard, held on the same stage as the Elite 15. Its winner earns a place in the next Elite 15 field. There is no Challenger race at the World Championship, so Challenger athletes remain free to accept age-group slots there.
No. An athlete who earns an Elite 15 World Championship place cannot race any age-group division at the same championships, in Singles, Doubles or Mixed Doubles. Any age-group place they already hold is forfeited and refunded, including their Doubles partner's ticket, and that slot is offered once to the next eligible athlete from the original race.
Conclusion
HYROX Elite 15 is no longer a single race you can target. It is a table, built from your best five Singles results, or your best three Doubles results, at Pro and Elite races over a rolling year. The top places at each race earn fixed points, everyone behind them scores a percentage of the winner’s time, and only results raced while you hold a licence count. The top 15 at each cut-off race the Elite Series for real prize money, and the podiums of those five races make the Elite 15 at the World Championship in Hong Kong.
For most people reading this, the honest path is the Pro division first: Pro results scored with a licence are the only way onto the table. That makes the practical questions narrow ones. Which Pro races in the next 365 days will you count, how close to the winner can you finish at each, and when does the next field lock?
The part HYROX’s points page cannot do is the training in between, where a race calendar meets a working week and the plan has to bend without losing the target.
That is where Kracey comes in. Your coach is an AI HYROX coach that lives in Telegram, reads your training through intervals.icu, and messages you first after a session rather than waiting to be opened. Tell it which Pro races you are counting and it periodises towards them. After each one, paste your result from results.hyrox.com into the chat and it reads your eight runs, eight stations and Roxzone split by split. The first 14 days are free with no card, and they start once your coach can actually see your training.
Meet your coach in Telegram and build your season around your Pro races .
